Trove Access Guide for Furniture and Upholstery Delivery
To ensure a smooth and successful delivery, it is important to check that your space can comfortably accommodate your chosen piece before placing an order. Many of our furniture and upholstery items are large and heavy, and access limitations can affect delivery.
Please review the guidance below carefully. If you are unsure about any aspect of access, our team is always happy to advise before your order is confirmed.
Measuring Access
Before ordering, please measure all access points from the delivery vehicle to the final room location, including:
-
Doorways and internal doors
-
Hallways and corridors
-
Staircases including turns and landings
-
Lifts including internal dimensions and door openings
-
Ceiling heights where items may need to be tilted
All measurements should allow for adequate clearance, not just the exact size of the item.

Staircases and Lifts
For deliveries involving stairs or lifts, please ensure:
-
Stair widths, heights, and turning points are suitable for the item
-
There is sufficient head height on staircases
-
Lifts are large enough to accommodate the item safely and are operational on the day of delivery
If lift access is required, please provide the internal lift dimensions in advance.
Tight Turns and Restricted Access
Some items cannot be tilted, bent, or dismantled due to their construction. This is particularly relevant for:
-
Upholstered sofas and armchairs
-
Fully assembled cabinets and storage
-
Solid timber tables
If your property has tight turns, narrow staircases, or restricted access, please contact us before ordering so we can advise on suitability.

Period Properties and New Builds
Older buildings and new developments can present unique access challenges, including narrow stairwells, low ceilings, or limited lift sizes. Please take extra care when measuring and share any concerns with our team ahead of time.
Delivery Day Responsibilities
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure clear and safe access on the day of delivery, including:
-
Removing obstacles from hallways and access routes
-
Securing pets away from delivery areas
-
Reserving parking where required
If access is restricted or differs from what was provided in advance, delivery may not be possible.
Failed or Aborted Deliveries
If a delivery cannot be completed due to access issues that were not identified in advance, additional delivery charges may apply. In some cases, items may need to be returned to storage and rebooked once access has been resolved.
