Caring for Your Veneered Furniture

Our veneered furniture is crafted with the same care and consideration as our solid timber pieces. With thoughtful handling and regular upkeep, these fine surfaces will maintain their beauty and depth of tone for many years to come.

Material Notes

Mappa Burr and Bird’s Eye Maple are prized for their distinctive character and complex natural patterns. Each sheet of veneer is carefully selected, matched, and hand-applied by skilled craftspeople to achieve a refined, seamless finish.

These timbers are inherently unique – natural variation in tone, grain and figuring is to be expected and is part of their charm. The veneered surface is finished with a protective lacquer to enhance durability while retaining the richness of the wood beneath.

Cleaning

• Dust regularly with a clean, dry microfibre cloth.

• For light cleaning, wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth and immediately dry with a lint-free cloth.

• Avoid excessive moisture, harsh detergents, or abrasive cleaning pads, as these may damage the veneer or lacquer.

• Never use wax or silicone-based polishes, which can dull the surface over time.

• If in doubt, seek professional advice before applying any cleaning product.

Everyday Care

• Veneered surfaces can be sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. Position furniture away from direct sunlight, radiators, or air conditioning units to prevent warping or fading.

• Always use coasters or felt pads under glasses, ceramics and decorative items to protect from heat, moisture and scratches.

• Wipe spills promptly to prevent staining or lifting of the veneer edge.

• Avoid placing hot objects directly on the surface.

• Use gentle, consistent care to preserve the natural lustre and delicate movement of the veneer over time.
